Bill 1 - The Carbon Tax Repeal Act

Bill 1 - the Act to Repeal Alberta's carbon tax...

was introduced to help remove the burden on families and job creators. This act was introduced in the Alberta Legislature on May 22, 2019 and voted upon on Wednesday, May 29. The result of the vote is that the Alberta Carbon Levy has ended as of 12:01 a.m. on May 30.

What does this mean regarding your natural gas bill?

There is no carbon levy chargeable for May 30 and May 31. Meter readings from May 29 at midnight will be used to calculate your May gas bill and gas consumption for May through May 29.

May 30 and 31 gas consumption will be added to your June billing. If you have any questions or concerns about this, kindly contact our office.

Federation Achievement Awards

It is almost Grad season again, and with it our students will be searching for scholarship opportunities.

The Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops is once again offering four (4) $1,000 scholarship awards to children of gas co-op members to attend post-secondary education. Children of landowners who are serviced by gas member towns, villages, counties or bands are also eligible. The applications are compiled and selected by our partners at Alberta Municipal Services Corporation.
